Back with a few new pictures of my sister and I as M.K. and Nod from BlueSky’s newest animated movie.
These few shots where captured by Ayla Bonji at Anime-con in The Netherlands in May 2013 - This shoot took around 10 min and we simply enjoyed it!
These characters are so fun and loving, and my sister and I simply adore cosplaying them - More love for this wonderful movie and it’s creators :)
Both cosplays are crafted by ourselves - progress and other pictures can be viewed on our cosplay profiles:

I actually wanna talk about Nod’s shirt as well
It’s naturally tie-dyed. It’s original colour is whatever colour is the lightest, while natural tie-dyes were used to make the lines and… smoky patters on it. It’s either that or Nod is really talented with staining his shirt, right?
But it’s interesting, because that puts out the idea that the people of Moonhaven keep people around to make clothes (though that’s a little obvious, I guess), and pay attention to detail and things like that. They go out to pick the materials to make the shirt itself (once they find some of that material, they’ll have tons of clothes, considering their size) as well as the plants to dye it.
I feel like it’s to be expected, really, but it’s a nice detail and I really like it because my mum used to do a lot of tie-dying with natural dyes as well.
I think it’s a combination of both—the natural dyes and Nod just being really good at staining his shirt.
Whenever I put together what I think Moonhaven is, I always include the dyers and the brewers (because my own thoughts aside, alcohol tends to stay fairly fresh, and during the winter, that plus snowmelt makes sense to me as to what they drink).
I just look at the Leafmen armor/clothing/leatherwork means that they have dyers, smiths, and tanners. They have to. It’s the only thing that makes sense. Especially since the shades of green in Leafmen armor/boots/etc can be found in nature, but to keep them those colors on clothing after washing kinda requires dyers.

After the death of her mother, MK Kennedy goes to live with her dad in a small town in Connecticut. Despite the small-town-ness, they have a bit of a crime problem, and under duress (and potentially the charms of one particular detective-in-training), MK finds that she gets involved more than she’d like.
